Ashes 2017-18: Australia v England first Test, day four – as it happened

AUSTRALIA is just 56 runs away from a massive 1-0 lead in the Ashes.

The home side dominated all three sessions on day four as Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood and then Mitchell Starc ripped the heart out of the England batting line-up. Then David Warner and Cameron Bancroft stepped to the crease to give Australia a stranglehold of the Gabba Test.

Chasing the potentially tricky total of 170 in the fourth innings of the Test, Australia’s opening duo took the game away from England with a superb 114-run partnership to see Australia through to 0/114 at stumps.

Australia second innings 0/114 after 34 overs. Bancroft 51 Warner 60

England second innings 195.

Australia first innings 328.
